Game Analysis

Today we played againts Solvik.. new team nowbody knew anything about.
I must say I thought they weren't so good but damn I was wrong. They had a few really good players who kept the game alive.
We started out pretty shaky..threw away many balls but luckily enough they didn't start so well either. So both teams struggled to get up the tempo and there was much running back and forth. But we managed to get 4-6 points lead. Great work under the basket and Lee made some important shots in first period. Then second period we started getting into the game and played quite good. We also played good defence..didn't let them take easy shots and great job on rebounds. I must say that i made a hell of the shot in the end of 1st half. From the freaking free throw line on other side of the court...with one hand..straight through the net..Talk about being lucky=) Unfrotuantely it didn't count coz referee had already blown the whistle and time was out...That was a shot you only make once in your lifetime=)
We had 6 point lead before the 2nd half. We increased our lead to 10 points and it felt quite safe....untill it was 4 minutes left to play. We got stressed when they set up full-cort press and we made 4 or 5 turnovers in a matter of seconds and let them back in game. After time out we got us back together and increased a lead to 6 points when it was 1 minute left. We managed to keep our heads cold and felt great relief when the time was out.
I wasn't happy with my game...threw away too many balls and easy mistakes. Missed all my shots and some stupid fouls but I'll learn from my mistakes. I didn't warm up enough and felt like my legs were stuck to the floor. So the whole game was a struggle for me...didn't play like I used to...but only thing that counts is that we WON...6 out of 6 baby!!!!!
Now I'm gonna take off to bed and maybe ask Erika to massage my calves 2morrow:P

Hey!

Weeks are passing by so quickly...
I have had a "special week" where I wanted to learn more about spinal cord injuries and how it works for disabled persons to have active life. It was reallt intresting and Im glad I picked it. I'm quite good dealing with wheel chair...I have to admit it was quite hard in the beginning...

First day was quite demanding...because elevator didin't work me and Sara had to take the other way...outside around the house. It was raining so we had big problems to get around and it was up the will all the way.
Some other activities we tryed...We played wheel chair basketball, wheel chair rugby and watched a movie called "Murderball". Movie was one of the best sports movies I've ever seen. The eye-opening documentary Murderball takes an intriguing idea of introducing people to the sport of quad rugby, only to find even more drama and action taking place off the court. The players are quick to dispel a somewhat popular misconception of quadriplegics as people with no use of their limbs. They all have sustained neck and/or spinal cord fractures, but with varying degrees of limb disabilities, with those serving as ratings for the purpose of the sport. For example, someone who has little impairment in their limbs would rate a 3.0, while a 0.5 would be given to a player with little or next to no use of their limbs. Those ratings are then applied during the game, with no team allowed to have the players exceed 8.0 on the court at one time.
Away from the competition, the film largely focuses on the U.S. quad rugby team, as they compete in a pair of world championships (yes, this sport has participants from many countries) and the 2004 Paralympics in Athens, Greece. It also looks at the life of one of the team's former players, Joe Soares, who, bitter at being cut from the U.S. squad, decides to coach the Canadian national team. Soares, a fiercely competitive man, is seen by the U.S. team as a traitor, but is clearly a driving force in making the Canadian team a serious threat to the Americans longtime dominance in the sport. The fact that U.S. team leader Mark Zupan and Soares clearly dislike each other is played up to good dramatic and comic effect by the film.
Enough about the movie...I got pissed off once and a while. Few guys acted like they were in 5th grade.I mean talk about lack of respect..something my mom taught me when I was 6:D well well...I guess everybody needs time to grow up and we all now it takes longer time for boys=)

This week we have had vacation...Our teachers had left us some homework to do so I was quite busy with my studies for a few days.
3 more days and then back in school. It's not so long time till Xmas so I'm actually looking forward to it:P

Yesterday I met my ex classmates and it was great to meet them again. We met at O'Learys and was gonna watch footie...not the best game I've seen but I guess you can't expect more when two swedish teames face each other. After that they showed Curling Cup between Arsenal and Liverpool. We missed the beginning coz the waitress was a bit stressed out. We left the place after first halftime and I got home when they had 20 minutes left to play. Great game by Gunners who finally managed to win. Senderos looser no 1 was lucky that the ref didn't blew for penalty. I don't get how he still gets to play. According to me he is totally useless...
Tomorrow I'll just take it easy..don't have any plans at the moment=)
Alright that's all for me!!!
Ciao

Long time no see!

Okay now I haven't updated my blog for a while. Have actually forgot about that. I haven't written anything since a night out :S and it took place in the beginning of September.
I've noticed that it's October now=)
Nothing much has happened regard to school...it was quite mixed up in the beginning but I guess that's common for anyone who starts new course. I am really happy with my teachers..it feels good=)
Beside school, I've started playing basketball again. Nice to have motivation and feel the joy of it. We had a game last weekend and it went well. After a poor first half we took us together and managed to get 10 point lead which we held till the end of the game.
For a few weeks ago we had a Polish evening at our place and it was really fun. We visited this polish food store in St.Eriksplan where they had quite cheap meat and sausages. I must say it tasted really good =)
Later in the evening we went out to dance but it ended shortly after our arrival when one guy begun to argue with me. I guess I had ignored him and he felt offended.

Today I've met my ex team-mate from Sundsvall (she's actually from Estonia) whom I haven't seen for a year. It was great to meet her again, though I had big DIFFICULTIES expressing myself in estonian. She was quite confused that I've forgot my native language. Crazy or what???
I've decided to go to Kramfors next weeken and make a short visit in Sundsvall. We had only 1h30 minutes so it wasn't enoguh for us to catch up.

Yesterday was quite depressing..I was hoping that Swedish national team would beat Denmark and fix the ticket to WC but hell no. They had a great chance to win but luck was not on our side:( Maybe next time.

Tomorrow new week starts and we have some events coming up. On Tuesday we have Lillsved Day where we have some activities together and well known volleyball game. Last year we managed to beat them but it was tough. So hopefully we can win again.

I promise it won't take another month to write new posts=)
Okidoki my friends, that's all for now!!!!
